Speaker bios:

Kanchan Maharaj is a Senior Engineer on the City of Toronto's cycling and pedestrian projects unit. She is responsible for the design and delivery of active transportation projects across the city including bikeways, signals, intersections and other infrastructure. She has been with the unit for 10 years.

As a passionate advocate for sustainable urban mobility and the first Bicycle Mayor of Toronto, Lanrick Bennett Jr is currently the Urbanist-in-Residence at UofT’s School of Cities. His project ‘Unleashing the Power of Cycling: A Sustainable Approach to Achieving Toronto's Net Zero Goals’, hopes to be a road map for city hall and constituents as we tackle congestion capacity and connectivity outside of our car-dependent world.

Kevin McLaughlin is a strategic builder (5x founder) passionate about turning great ideas into products & services that people love, with more than 20 years C-level experience driving results in Shared Urban Mobility, Healthy Cities and related Technology. His new venture is Zygg, an e-bike company whose goal is to make electric bikes simple. Zygg is a new kind of e-bike “shop” - in addition to traditional sales & service, they offer subscription electric bikes as-a-service by the month for commuters, families, fun seekers and other riders - and - food delivery, hotels and other commercial customers.
